Vicky has always been, shall we say, 'unique' with her quirky outlook on life, unrivalled determination, and magnetic personality. From a little girl, sports would always be Vicky's number one choice, with the classroom being last and completely avoidable if possible! Her love and natural talent for gymnastics especially, enabled Vicky to travel round the world training and competing at a National level, until she had no more room for any more medals!
Her love for sky high heels, full skirted dresses and all things vintage led to her excelling at Reading University, achieving a First Class honours degree in Fashion and Textiles. This, alongside her obsession with the 50's era, ignited Vicky's dream of starting and running her own business.
It didn't take long for Vicky to gain her Business Management qualification, shortly followed by her personal alcohol license of which she is very proud of, especially considering her dislike of education! Within a shake of the White Rabbits watch, a premises was secured, a wonderland of vintage treasures was collected, and a menu bursting with a Pandoras box of delicious treats was designed.
The dream became reality. Bone China was born.
The name Bone China depicts what we do best! All our foods are served with character by the use of elegant bone china crockery; tiered cake stands; vintage bone china tea cup and saucers to serve our deserts in. All drinks are served in crystal glassware, unique jars and dainty porcelain/china tea sets. We offer yummy lunch dishes; high tea on tiered plates with miniature desserts; mad hatter tea parties with hot savoury tapas dishes, cold nibbles & picky items & yummy homemade desserts; cupcakes & macaroons; and much, much more!
The decor derives around the 1940's/50's era and generates a feeling of 'stepping back in time'. We have used a collection of second hand shabby chic furniture to enhance this rustic vintage atmosphere. Unique rustic wallpaper is complimented by crisp white paintwork. This provides the perfect back drop for all the mirrors, picture frames, floral displays, vintage cameras and type writers.
We offer something unique & different to Truro by providing a relaxed friendly welcoming atmosphere, perfect for all occasions. We also cater for large parties offering set menus & private booking. You can also hire Bone China privately for 25 guests or more (please contact us for details).
Our aim is for you to sit back and relax in the beautiful surroundings, sip on some delicious cocktails and sample our various food dishes. On all occasions we encourage our customers to book to save disappointment.
Where possible we ask to pre order traditional high teas, mad hatters tea parties, sharing trays of loveliness & the set function menu.
